Numerous excellent programs and courses are available that will help you to learn a foreign language quickly; but many of the best ones are quite pricey. Once you get to a certain point in your training, you may want to obtain some eBooks for your computer, smartphone, eBook reader, or PDA. There is a rapidly increasing source of reading material available, at varying prices. However, thanks to modern technology, you can obtain an almost limitless supply of FREE foreign language books if you follow the tips presented below. You need software that will work on both your computer and eBook reading device. Mobipocket.com provides free software for reading as well as for creating eBooks. In addition, they also have an online supply of public domain classics. As this article is written, Mobipocket, an Amazon.com company, provides more than 11,500 free books in over 25 languages. This is an excellent place to start your search for foreign language reading material. All you have to do is download the free reading software and pick the books you want. Within just a few minutes, you can be reading and enjoying beloved classics. The next place to go, with perhaps the largest collection of free foreign language books, is Gutenberg.org. Project Gutenberg has more than 28,000 free books in over 50 languages. Although the texts are not formatted for reading devices, you can use Mobipocket Creator to import an html, text, Microsoft Word, or pdf document, and Mobi will create an eBook for you. You can find more free books by doing online searches such as "free books online", or use the equivalent phrase in the foreign language you are studying. Think of the possibilities. Find a foreign language book, and then search the Net for its English translation - or vice versa. Now you have an excellent learning tool that did not cost you a thing. Another good stop to make in your search for free material is Librivox.org. Librivox provides audio for public domain books. The Librivox goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books. In addition to free books, be sure to check Mobipocket for foreign language dictionaries, grammars, and instructional materials formatted for your reading device. Here is where you will find new books even before they reach the Kindle site, and they can be read in countries all over the world (unlike current Kindle productions). Thanks to technology and the Internet, there has never been a more interesting or easier time to learn a foreign language than right now.
